Is Christopher Columbus a hero, villian, or a regular guy? I believe Columbus is a hero even though he did not supposedly discover America. He was always known as the first to discover America but as time goes on the story seems to change, "Was he really the first to discover America?" Nobody knows for sure whether or not he was the first but it is still a question that is trying to be answered. His expedition was a huge part of history because it gave a lot of people hope that he was going to be able to discover America. It took a lot of time and money to pay for the voyage and to know if he really discovered America first leaves a lot of people wondering. Even though he might not of discovered America I think that the voyage makes him a hero because of all he went through. He dealt with people dying on the ships, money is always an issue. They had to make sure that they had enough supplies to make it through the journey to find America.

In your blog you mentioned that Columbus discovered America.Is that the only reason he's a hero?Because if he hadn't discovered America someone else would have.Would that have made them a hero too?
I can see what you mean about about Columbus being a hero, because without him, we wouldn't be here today. But how did he treat the Natives in the Bahamas, and do you think it was just?
I understand your point of Columbus being a hero. But, think of all the hardships and deseases he brought along with him that hurt a lot of innocent people in the new lands. Wouldn't you think these negative outcomes would make become a villain?

I agree that Columbus was a hero, but not for the same reason. You said that it gave people hope that he would discover America, but he was not resally even looking for America, he was looking for India. Other than that, I agree with you because Columbus make things known about the Americas that were previously unheard of, regardless of whether or not he actually discovered the place.
